Violence is harming or killing another human being. Political violence is damaging property of a symbol of power like an international bank outlet, an international fast food establishment.  It is police and military who overwhelming do violence not protesters.

: Hmmm, I can think of a few members of the natural world who would likely object to that definition (c.f. {{ep|606}}) - but I do agree that the police and military do the large majority of violence. When confronted by such amoral repression ([http://www.presstv.com/usdetail/312145.html the FBI reportedly made plans to assassinate Occupy leaders]), should protesters scrupulously seek to avoid violence and/or property damage in order to attract larger numbers, or does it make more sense to adopt a wider 'mix of tactics'?
