Vandalism is not Violence -- Dahszil 21:06, 31 August 2013 (PDT)
Violence is harming or killing another human being. Political violence is damaging property of a symbol of power like an international bank outlet, an international fast food establishment. It is police and military who overwhelming do violence not protesters.
How to respond to Violence? -- Robin 00:35, 2 September 2013 (PDT)
- Hmmm, I can think of a few members of the natural world who would likely object to that definition (c.f. episode 606) - but I do agree that the police and military do the large majority of violence. When confronted by such amoral repression (the FBI reportedly made plans to assassinate Occupy leaders), should protesters scrupulously seek to avoid violence and/or property damage in order to attract larger numbers, or does it make more sense to adopt a wider 'mix of tactics'?
