David Suzuki is a retired professor of genetics, turned science broadcaster. In 1990, he co-founded the David Suzuki foundation, "to find ways for society to live in balance with the natural world that sustains us." He is critical of genetic engineering and of government's lack of action to protect the environment from corporations.
