First Richard Heinberg on the coming tidal wave of Peak Oil, then Jeff Gates, author of Democracy at Risk, Rescuing Main St. from Wall St. - A Populist's Vision for the 21st Century, [Michael Leibowitz]] giving a Marxian perspective, and finally Bill Moyers on the need to stand up and oppose inequity in USA.

We start our show this week with Richard Heinberg who shares his indignation at the news blackout surrounding Peak Oil. He recommends the shutting down of advertising and other such methods of promoting consumerism.

Then we hear an interview from Jeff Gates, author of Democracy at Risk, Rescuing Main St. from Wall St. - A Populist's Vision for the 21^st Century. Sue Supriano interviews him on whether capitalism could be made sane by reforms.

In our second hour, we hear an interview with Michael Leibowitz on Marx' perspective on capitalism and technological development. Why do people not understand the nature of capitalism exploitation, he asks, answering that people confuse money with real wealth. Our second hour concludes with a speech by Bill Moyers on the inequity of capitalism in North America, and the need to stand up and oppose it.
