A 'grand old man' of dissidence, Chomsky has been a thorn in the side of the establishment since around the time of the Vietnam war. He was too prominent an academic for the establishment to quietly fire, so they had to put up with him instead. He made his academic name by studying linguistics, but is known in activist circles for his criticism of US foreign policy. He has a vast knowledge of US foreign actions abroad, a deep understanding of how the public mind is controlled through the corporate media, and a compendious memory making him a formidable presence in debate. Unlike Peter Dale Scott, he seems to stick to fairly established criticism such as hypocrisy of the military and political establishments, rather than looking at false flag terrorism.
