David Holmgren is an ecological design engineer and writer. He is most well known as co-originator of permaculture with Bill Mollison, in the late 1970's. In Australia, his approach to using exotic species has been criticised. He favours their inclusion, arguning that synthesis is nature's way, though other have suggested that this is irresponsible.
