Download Hour1 Download Hour2Many people think that there are no political prisoners in the Unites States. In fact, there is a long history of use of the judicial system as a weapon against political dissenters. And dissenters who cross the line into various kinds of militant action consistently receive harsher sentences than persons committing the same actions for non-political reasons. This week we hear from two women, Linda Evans and Susan Rosenberg, who each spent 16 years in prison for their politically motivated acts. |
Susan Rosenberg should not be confused with the Rosenbergs imprisoned and killed by the US government as described in episode 557.
